TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a lot of change this season, mainly the end of the Tom Brady era. But Pro Bowl tackle Tristin Wirfs feels changes were needed since some players got a little too full of themselves.

“I feel like winning the Super Bowl was kind of like a blessing and a curse at the same time,” Wirfs said. “It united some groups of people were some guys and it kind of made individuals. We want everyone to be together.”

Wirfs didn’t specifically name names but he feels this Bucs team is young and is starting this season with a new offensive coordinator and new system and that’s good.

Bucs new offensive coordinator Dave Canales showed tapes of what he did in Seattle with the Seahawks offense and Wirfs says he got pumped watching and listening to Canales.Wirfs is also curious as to see what quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask bring to this offense.

“I think it’s going to open up a lot of options for us,” Wirfs said. “Both those guys can run around a little bit. As much as I love Tom (Brady) you guys know how I feel about Tom, but he can’t run. So it will open up some new stuff for usand it’ll be really exciting.”

There is a chance Wirfs could move from right tackle to the left side to replace the departed Donovan Smith. Wirfs says he’s already been working out on both sides but will still have to wait to see if the Bucs draft a left tackle or pick one up before training camp.

Wirfs feels the Bucs have to put the past in the past.

“Yeah, we’ve done this (win the Super Bowl) and we did that with this group of people this year. That’s in the past. We know what it takes. For us to get there to get on that same page to get that done, but not let there be any individuals. one goal. One collective in mind, working for the same thing.”
