Del Rio Texas Mayor And Trump

Trump And Del Rio’s Democratic Mayor Attack Biden, Admin For Failing To Control The Southern Border

As thousands of migrants from a Third World nation flock to the Texas border in the hope of entering America, former President Donald Trump warned that failure to prevent such an incursion will drive our own nation to backwater status.

“The United States will soon be considered a Third World Nation,” Trump said in a statement issued Monday by his Save America political action committee.

“There has never been anything like what is happening at our Border. Millions of people have already poured in, but many more than that are coming!”

Trump was responding to recent Fox News reports about the gathering of thousands of immigrants, a large number of which are from Haiti, under a bridge that leads into Del Rio, Texas. The latest estimate pegs the number of immigrants at nearly 15,000.

Trump may have found an ally in Del Rio.

Over the weekend, Mayor Bruno Lozano, a Democrat, chastised his fellow Democrats, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, assigned by Biden to tend to the border issue, for lax policies and inattention to the mounting border crisis.

Biden left the White House early Friday afternoon for a weekend retreat in Delaware amid an explosive news cycle.

Not only was the border situation worsening, but the Pentagon also admitted a drone strike actually killed 10 civilians, including seven children; France recalled its ambassador out of anger over the U.S. cutting it out of the naval deal with Australia; and the FDA board overwhelmingly rejected the idea of COVID-19 booster shots, which Biden had championed.

Harris, meanwhile, attended the Howard University football game on Saturday and made the opening coin toss.

In response to that, Mayor Lozano tweeted over a video clip of Harris entering the stadium, “The VP is able to visit the fun events across the country, while American communities continue to grapple with failed immigration reform. Where is the visit to Del Rio, TX?”

Then in a tweet at Harris accompanied by a photo of the migrants sheltering under the bridge, the mayor said, “We need you to visit Del Rio, Texas.”

He also went directly at Biden and Harris for ignoring the border crisis.

Replying to a tweet Harris posted about the U.S. failing to adequately invest in childcare and early education, Lozano said, “The US is failing to protect its borders. Why aren’t you here? @POTUS.”

After Biden tweeted about his tax plan, Lozano responded, “The President has a plan for taxes. Where is the plan to protect our southern border? Where is your plan to protect American communities at the southern border? I spoke to [Texas] Governor [Greg] Abbott today. We have developed a temporary plan, we’d like to see yours.”

So would the rest of America, Mr. Mayor.
