Former President Donald Trump offered a children’s choir center stage at his next rally in South Carolina.

According to the Daily Wire, Trump invited the Rushingbrook Children’s Choir, a Christian choir from South Carolina, to perform at his upcoming rally in the Palmetto State.

Trump did not provide details about the event, except to tell the group, “You’re gonna be there.”

Trump offered the invitation in a video posted Tuesday on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He was reacting to the treatment of the children by the U.S. Capitol Police.

As The Free Press reported on Sunday, the choir was touring the Capitol on May 26 and briefly paused so they could perform some patriotic songs in Statuary Hall. At least three GOP lawmakers had approved the group’s appearance.

As the youngsters sang “The Star-Spangled Banner,” an adult directed them to stop. Matthew Leys, an organizer of the event, said Capitol Police silenced the choir because “singing the Anthem could be considered a form of protest.”

In response on Tuesday, Trump called it a “shame” that the kids were halted.

“It’s a really, it’s a serious thing to have an event like that — such a beautiful time in your lives and such an important time in your lives — to be interrupted in such a way,” he said.

“But we are going to have you in South Carolina, and you’re going to sing in a rally for us in front of tens of thousands of people. And we’re all going to have a great time together.”

“We love our country. We’re going to take care of our country, and we’re going to pay respect to those people that love it. And nobody loves it more than you,” Trump added.

“Thank you for everything, and thank you for loving America,” he concluded.

The Capitol Police later apologized to the choir for shutting down “their beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner,” saying in a statement that the silencing of the choir occurred because of a “miscommunication.”
