After a five-year supposed investigation, President Joe Biden’s son on Thursday was finally indicted on federal gun charges, and former President Donald Trump declared that the alleged crimes involving Hunter Biden are the only offenses by Hunter that do not implicate his father.
Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison after federal prosecutors, under pressure for having almost excused Biden with a sweetheart plea deal that later collapsed, indicted him on three charges stemming from 2018.
As NBC News reported on Thursday, Hunter was charged with two counts of violating federal gun laws after he allegedly declared on a form that he was not using illegal drugs when he bought a Colt Cobra revolver in October 2018. The third count asserts that he possessed the gun while using drugs.

Hunter swore on federal documents that he was not “an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance, when in fact, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious.”
In response, Trump said on Truth Social, his social media platform, “This, the gun charge, is the only crime that Hunter Biden committed that does not implicate Crooked Joe Biden. One down, Eleven to go!”
“The Democrats, with all of their horrible, very unfair, and mostly illegal Witch Hunts, have started a process that is very dangerous for our Country,” Trump added.
“They have opened the proverbial Pandora’s Box, and it is possible that the USA will never be the same again. SO SAD!!!”
In response, in a highly ironic statement, given the Biden administration’s pursuit of Trump, claimed the prosecution of Hunter by his father’s Justice Department was overly political.
Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, claimed the indictments resulted from “MAGA Republicans’ improper and partisan interference in this process,” according to NBC News.
“Hunter Biden possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days was not a threat to public safety, but a prosecutor, with all the power imaginable, bending to political pressure presents a grave threat to our system of justice.”

House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, a Kentucky Republican and the leader of the House’s pursuit of the Biden family’s alleged financial crimes, called the gun charges “the least of all the dozen crimes he’s committed,” NBC News reported.
The New York Post reported last year that Hallie Biden, Hunter’s former sister-in-law who became his lover after his brother beau died, discovered the gun and tossed it in a garbage bin over Hunter’s objections.
U.S. Secret Service agents eventually approached the owner of the pawn shop where Hunter bought the gun and demanded the records of the sale. The store owner refused and later gave the records to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Another man who scoured the garbage bin for recyclables found the gun and turned it in. “No arrests were made or charges filed in connection with the incident,” the Post reported.
That changed on Thursday.
