The Supreme Court denied a request from Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham Tuesday that would have allowed the senator to override a grand jury subpoena for his alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election.

US Sen. Graham: Biden Should Be Impeached For ‘Dereliction Of Duty’ In Afghanistan

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham called President Joe Biden’s “dereliction of duty” in Afghanistan so grave that it warrants impeachment and removal from office.

“I think he should be impeached,” the South Carolina Republican said in an interview Tuesday night with Rob Schmitt of Newsmax. “This is the most dishonorable thing a commander in chief has done, maybe, in modern times.”

“Joe Biden, for political reasons, wanted to pull all of our troops out because of the polling numbers, and what has he done?” added Graham. “He’s created the conditions for another 9/11. He’s abandoned thousands of people who honorably and bravely fought along with us, and how do you win this war over time if you have nobody to help you over there? How do you keep it from our shores if all of us are here.”

Graham predicted that Biden’s impulsive and chaotic withdrawal of American forces would lead to a massive terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

“I can understand wanting to bring our troops home, but the goal is to protect America, and that’s why we have a military,” Graham said. “President Biden took the most dangerous and dishonorable path available to him.”

He added that a “residual” counterterrorism force of U.S. troops, in Afghanistan, perhaps 2,500 to 4,000 troops, was “an insurance policy against another 9/11.” Now, Graham said, “We’re naked and blind.”

“A few thousands of Americans would have kept us safe. Now we have nobody,” said Graham. “The likelihood of another 9/11 is through the roof. … Biden screwed this up.”

“I think this is a dereliction of duty at the highest level,” continued Graham. “Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us. He’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban’s 31 August deadline.”

“If I was our president of the United States, I would have told the Taliban, ‘Go to hell; we’re going to stay here as long as it takes to get our people out.’ And if I were president of the United States, I would have had soldiers in Afghanistan as long as it takes to keep America safe,” said Graham.

Schmitt actually opened the interview by asking Graham to comment on a new poll by USA Today that showed Biden’s approval rating at 41 percent.

“Who the hell are the 41 percent and what do they like?” Graham answered. “I didn’t think anybody could screw up the world in seven months like this.”
