Video Shows The Moment First Responders In Florida Save A Man Caught In A Rip Current

Body-worn camera footage from deputies who assisted in saving a man from drowning has been made public by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Last weekend, a swimmer at New Smyrna Beach was caught in a rip current, according to the sheriff’s office.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood expressed his gratitude to all of the first responders who rushed to the man’s side to save his life.

The man was rescued from the waves by lifeguards, who said that upon finding him, he was unconscious and had no pulse.

Performing CPR right away, first responders were able to revive the man.

The man is now anticipated to fully recover.

Chitwood believes that the man’s life was saved and his pulse was finally restored because of the first responders’ prompt action in those crucial early seconds. It is anticipated that he will fully recover.
