A 21-year-old West Point cadet was discovered dead in a river Monday night after going missing over the weekend while on spring break in South Florida, officials said.

Havin Morris’ body was discovered in the New River two days after he went missing while partying with a group of friends, according to multiple reports.

Authorities say the California native very likely drowned, and no criminal activity is suspected.

Morris and his friends reportedly visited Fort Lauderdale’s downtown district on the night he went missing.

At around 11:00 p.m., the cadet texted his parents from a nightclub.

According to Fort Lauderdale officials, the California native’s friends informed them that they had gone to Dicey Riley’s, a bar near New River, and last saw him there at around 1:00 a.m. but had “lost track of him” after that.

Morris’ death is thought to be accidental.

“West Point regrets to announce the loss of Cadet Havin Morris, 21, from Pleasanton, Calif., Monday, March 25, while on leave in Florida. Cadet Morris was a valued member of the Corps of Cadets, committed to serving his country as an officer,” said West Point Academy in an X post.
