34-Year-Old Man Arrested, Charged In Killing Woman And Attempted Murder On Deputy

CLEARWATER, FL. – A 34-year-old man is in custody after killing a woman Friday and trying to drown a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy.

According to police, Joshua Henderson, 34, of Clearwater was charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder on a law enforcement officer in connection with Friday’s shooting and subsequent arrest.

He has been booked into the Pinellas County Jail. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Shyanne Turner.

Police say the two were involved in a dating relationship. The victim was shot inside a 2020 Nissan Sentra at the original location of the crime, Otten Street and Weston Drive. The car was abandoned on Townsend Street.

The suspect was arrested later in the evening in a nearby retention pond after a search involving three law enforcement agencies.

The second charge relates to him pulling a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy under water and holding the deputy there.
