HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Lithia man who showed pornographic material to a minor.
According to deputies, on March 11, 2024, investigators with HCSO’s Special Victims Section received a tip informing them that James Charles Nezbeth, 70, showed pornographic material and enticed lewd and lascivious conduct from a minor in May of 2023.
After investigating this tip, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Nezbeth on March 27, 2024.

On March 29, 2024, deputies arrested Nezbeth, and he was charged with the following:
- Extortion x2
- Lewd or Lascivious Conduct
- Sell or Distribute Obscene Material to a Minor
“This individual’s actions are despicable, and I am thankful our team was able to get this man off the streets and stop him from hurting any more potential victims,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “If anyone else may be a victim of this man’s disgusting actions, we ask them to come forward and speak to our detectives.”
