Citrus County Offering FREE Meals For Students, Thanksgiving Break

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Citrus County Schools Food and Nutrition Services Department is providing Citrus County children with seven days’ worth of lunches, snacks, and dinners to help them through the Thanksgiving break.  This FREE drive-thru service applies to all children in the county 18 years and under.

The effort is to ensure students have access to nutritious meals even during breaks from school.

Students will receive the package of meals on Friday, November 20th, the last day before Thanksgiving break. Students return to school Monday, November 30th.

The county has only 4000 (7-day meal packs) to distribute, which is why families MUST register to receive meals.

Parents/Caregivers MUST fill out the pre-registration form BEFORE November 16th to receive meals. Forms are available at one of our existing meal sites on Mondays and Thursdays OR by visiting https://www.citrusschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_737617/File/Departments/Food%20Services/Menus/Pre-order%20Form.pdf.

Forms can be dropped off at any drive-up feeding site on Mondays or Thursdays OR your child’s school cafeteria.

NOTE: Please fill out the form for EACH child, so we have an accurate count of meals.
