A 68-year-old Florida man was extradited from Mexico last week to face state charges of sexual battery against a minor.

Manuel Rendon Morales, 68, of Moore Haven, Florida, allegedly committed sexual battery on a minor under the age of 12 from 2005 to 2006, according to the FBI.

The Seminole Police Department initially acquired the state warrant, and Morales later fled the state of Florida.

After learning of Morales’ flight out of Florida, the FBI obtained a federal Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant.

The subject was recently located in Mexico, where he was detained by law enforcement authorities and held for extradition by the FBI.

Upon arrival at Miami International Airport, the FBI handed over the subject to the Seminole Police Department for transport to Glades County, Florida, where he will face state charges.

The Seminole PD, Safe Trails Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
