Florida Woman Cats House Hoarder Arrested

Florida Woman Arrested With A Dozen Cats And Skeletal Remains Found In Home

A Florida woman has been arrested after deputies execute a search warrant to discover malnourished cats and skeletal remains in and out of the woman’s home.

On October 6th, 2021, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Animal Cruelty Task Force responded to the home of Luuly Quang in Fort Myers after learning that there were approximately a dozen cats living in deplorable conditions.

Detectives met with Lee County Domestic Animal Services who advised that there were several cats living in and around Quang’s home.

Animal services seized three cats a week prior and provided medical care for them. The cats suffered injuries to include malnourishment, upper respiratory infections, swollen-shut eyes, and paralysis.

Deputies say due to their declining medical status and suffering, all three had to be euthanized. On October 6th, Animal Services officers returned for follow-up.

Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Animal Cruelty Task Force and Central District Criminal Investigations Division were notified and responded to assume the investigation.

Detectives authored a search warrant and executed it on Quang’s home. While inside, they found additional cats with severe medical conditions.

Skeletal remains of an animal were also located. Detectives continued to search the home and located insect infestations, feces, urine, and trash everywhere.

It was an unlivable space not equipped to properly care for pets.

“The condition of this house was unbelievable, and the severity of the cats’ injuries due to neglect is unacceptable,” stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno. “The Animal Cruelty Task Force and Central District detectives did a remarkable job on this case. They brought this woman to justice and booked her into the Lee County Jail.”

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives arrested Luuly Quang for three counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty. The investigation is ongoing.
