Former President Donald Trump on Sunday dared some of his aging peers in the political sphere to go toe-to-toe with him on a mental acuity test.
According to The Gateway Pundit, Trump responded to a recent Wall Street Journal that was actually favorable to him.
As the Tampa Free Press reported last Monday, when the poll was released, 73% of respondents said 80-year-old President Joe Biden is too old to run for re-election.
In contrast, just 47% said that Trump, who is 77, was too old to seek another term.
On Sunday, Trump sounded off about the poll on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“In a phony and probably rigged Wall Street Journal poll, coming out of nowhere to softened (sic) the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality. Where did that come from?” Trump posted.
“A few years ago I was the only one to agree to a mental acuity test, & ACED IT. Now that the Globalists at Fox & the WSJ have failed to push their 3rd tier candidate to success, they do this. Well, I hereby challenge Rupert Murdoch & Sons, Biden, WSJ heads, to acuity tests!”
Rupert Murdoch owns both Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. He is 92.
The Gateway Pundit did not report on whether Murdoch, whose sons, or any Journal staffers accepted the challenge.
As Trump continues to remain strong in the Republican primary, Biden is the one now suddenly facing questions about his age and mental competence.
An NBC News poll in June, for instance, found that 68% of voters said they doubted Biden having the necessary mental and physical health to remain president. That included 55% who answered that they have “major” concerns about him.

Comparatively, 55% of voters shared such concerns about Trump’s mental and physical health, including 44% who have “major” concerns, NBC noted.
At the time, Biden led Trump by four points in a hypothetical matchup.
Now, the men are tired, and Trump may be slightly ahead in some polls.
Back in May, according to Fox News, Texas GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson, a former White House doctor who treated both Trump and former President Barack Obama, led a contingent of 61 Republican lawmakers who called on Biden to take a mental cognitive test or pull out of the 2024 presidential race. Jackson has repeatedly prodded Biden about taking such a test, almost since the day Biden entered office.
“We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” the Republican lawmakers wrote in their letter.
“When you first announced your bid to run in the 2020 presidential election, questions and concerns were raised surrounding your cognitive abilities. Those concerns have only increased because your mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent since you were elected,” the letter continued.
“Over the past two years, public appearances where you shuffle your feet, trip when you walk, slur your words, forget names, lose your train of thought, and appear momentarily confused have become more of a common occurrence.”
“Successful completion of this type of exam will ease the minds of the concerned American public and prove that you are capable of performing the duties required by the President of the United States,” the letter added.
At the time of the letter, 57% of respondents said they did not believe Biden was mentally fit to serve as President or expressed doubts about his mental fitness.
As the Wall Street Journal showed, that number is up sharply in just four months.
