Spring Hill Mobil Gas Station Damaged By Fire Monday

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL. – At 3:04 p.m. Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) responded to a reported commercial fire at the Mobil Service Station at 5244 Mariner Blvd.

The call came in by an employee who reported smoke from behind the cooler in the store. Everyone evacuated from the store prior to the arrival of the fire department.

The first engine arrived within 3 minutes and reported heavy black smoke from the building with visible flames. The crew advanced a hose stream and extinguished the fire within 4 minutes.

The fire resulted in extensive damage to the interior of the store and will remain closed for an extensive period of time. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office.

HCFES responded with 4 fire engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 2 ALS medic units, 2 Battalion Chiefs, 1 Deputy Fire Chief, and Fire Corps, for a total of 22 personnel.
